Engineer Analyst (Windows OS) Vulnerability Management / Analyst Windows Server Vulnerability Engineer

United Kingdom (Virtual)

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Global Director of Infrastructure and Products, the Analyst Windows Server Vulnerability Engineer, will be responsible for remediation and support of distributed computing systems with reference to vulnerabilities and patching. You will work closely with application management, application development, and other IT teams to support vulnerability reduction of Windows Server infrastructure (both physical and virtual). The successful candidate must have a solid work ethic, be detail oriented, and have strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • 60% - Primary role is to ensure the global stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the systems and infrastructure that support core organizational functions, as well as to conduct research on new and emerging technologies for practical application to business problems and strategic initiatives.
  • 20% - Experienced knowledge of job role demonstrating advanced application of technical skills and interpersonal competencies.
  • 20% - Provides direct global technical support for all requirements in developing strategy, planning, coordination, scripting, and implementation of releases, upgrades, or changes to our distributed computing environment. This includes participating in several small to medium‑scale projects and/or tasks of various complexities across the enterprise.

You will have the following experience:

  • Hands‑on experience installing and supporting Windows Servers. Other flavors are desired: 2016, 2019, Clustering, 2022, Virtual and Physical.
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting Windows.
  • Strong experience with PowerShell scripting.
  • Hands‑on experience installing and supporting VMware.
  • Hands‑on experience managing IaaS and PaaS in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.
  • In‑depth knowledge of server technologies employed, hardware, OS, and related tools and applications.
  • Expert technical diagnostic and research skills of servers, expert troubleshooting.
  • Ability to identify and elevate issues to management when appropriate to meet SLA requirements.
  • In‑depth knowledge of networking components and services such as TCP/IP protocols, DHCP and DNS technologies, and LAN/WAN topologies and transports.
  • Requires ability to correctly assess risks of various alternatives and take appropriate actions to restore services in the event of system outages.
  • Ability to explain the technical implications of various alternative solutions to management.
  • Strong customer service orientation, proven dependability, promptness, and a solid attendance history.
  • Ability to perform in a highly motivated, self‑directed, and well‑organized manner to handle multiple assignments concurrently.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with BigFix.
  • Experience with Nutanix HCI.
  • Experience using ServiceNow ITIL managed processes.
