Job summary

EvoEnergy Limited is seeking technicians to join our growing maintenance team for planned, preventative, and reactive work on Solar PV installations nationwide. You'll attend residential and commercial sites to keep systems performing safely and efficiently, with emphasis on fault-finding and rectification within a strong electrical background.

You will work on roof-mounted PV where required, collaborate with installation teams, and contribute to safety, quality, and timelines while building

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or City & Guilds 2368 is required.
• BS7671 18th Edition qualification is required.
• 2391 Inspection & testing is preferred.
• A Full clean driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections and repairs on Solar PV and other electrical systems from our nationwide portfolio (residential and commercial).
• Understand site plans and layout drawings of the installations.
• Understand and work on risk assessments and method statements.
• Be able to work on roof to inspect and work on Solar PV arrays.
• Understand the dangers of working with Solar PV (DC power and principles).
• Good electrical knowledge of Solar PV systems to determine faults and issues and fix where possible.
• Lead as part of a wider engineering/installation team to meet timescales and deadlines.
• Maintain work-at-height safety awareness and standards.
• Lead roof installation with additional labour and coordinate safety, quality, and timelines.
• Collaborate with Service Delivery, project managers and stakeholders to meet contractual requirements.
• Compile reports from sites visited and inspected and provide technical follow-up.

Job description

EvoEnergy is in a period of growth and expansion and is currently looking to add to our current team of technicians for planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across our portfolio of solar PV installations.

The role will be to attend sites across the country for both residential properties and commercial PV installations to maintain them, ensuring system performance remains high, the systems operate safely, and mechanical integrity is sound. Applicants must have working knowledge of Solar PV systems and be able to demonstrate experience in fault-finding and rectification within the industry, with a strong electrical background and qualifications. The position may also be required to support installation teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Carry out inspections and repairs on Solar PV and other electrical systems from our nationwide portfolio (residential and commercial).
• Understand site plans and layout drawings of the installations
• Understand and work on risk assessments and method statements.
• Be able to work ‘on roof’ to inspect and work on Solar PV arrays.
• Understand the dangers of working with Solar PV (DC power and principles).
• Good electrical knowledge of Solar PV systems to be able to determine faults and issues, and fix where possible.
• Work as part of a wider engineering/installation team to meet timescales and deadlines.
• Work-at-height appreciation and safety knowledge.
• Ability to lead from the front and take charge of the roof installation with additional labour, working with other team members to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and timelines are met.
• Work with the Service Delivery team, project managers, and other stakeholders to meet contractual requirements and safety & quality standards.
• Compile reports from sites visited and inspected in a timely manner, and follow up with technical advice on recommendations.
