Job summary

Nottingham Trent University is seeking an Hourly Paid Lecturer in History to supervise undergraduate Research Projects and contribute to teaching across Modern British, Irish and American History. The post holder will advise on sources, methods and outputs and may teach across related programmes.

Note this is a zero hours contract with hours varying by week; a flexible schedule is expected, including direct teaching and associated activity. Interview date in late September 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising undergraduate research
• Ability to teach on undergraduate history programmes
• Advising on primary/secondary sources, research methods and outputs

Responsibilities

• Supervise undergraduate Research Projects in Modern British, Irish and American History
• Teach on undergraduate history programmes and contribute to Politics or Sociology teaching
• Advise on sources, methods and forms of output across diverse themes
