Job summary

Connex Education Partnership requires reliable Cover Supervisors to manage whole classes in the absence of a teacher across secondary schools in Leigh and Greater Manchester. You will typically oversee 25–30 students and bridge the gap until staff return, in a term-time role.

The position is 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to cover 3+ days a week. DBS checks and safeguarding training are provided as part of our commitment to safe recruitment.

Qualifications

• Must be aged 21 or above.
• Hold a degree or equivalent in any specialist subject.
• Good ability to manage large groups of children.
• Some prior experience of working with children and/or vulnerable adults.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training provided).
• Engaging and confident individual with good communication skills.
• Professional, reliable and punctual.
• Be adaptable and able to cope with a hectic day.

Responsibilities

• Cover whole classes in the absence of a teacher.
• Manage 25–30 students and bridge the gap until teaching staff return.
• Support learning during short-term coverage in KS3/KS4 settings.
