Job summary

i4 Recruitment is seeking an Energy Markets Research Analyst for a graduate opportunity in Redhill, Surrey. This full-time role covers UK/European energy markets and involves building tools with Python, SQL and Power BI.

You’ll contribute to market intelligence, support client strategies and gain real responsibility from day one, with progression into ERM, market analysis or portfolio strategy. Salary £25,000–£30,000, plus bonus and generous leave.

Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate in a financial, analytical or technical discipline.
• Experience from a financial institution, consultancy or utility is an advantage.
• Fluent English with strong numeracy and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Market analysis across UK & European energy markets.
• Risk & exposure monitoring for clients.
• Technical development using Python, SQL and Power BI.
• Daily reporting of market movements and product activity.
• Trading & hedging support including trade capture and position validation.
• Research & insights for newsletters and client briefings.
• Collaborate with consultants, analysts and risk managers to deliver ERM services.
