Job summary

Amey is seeking a permanent Energy Manager to join the Consulting Advisory team focusing on Energy Transition and Sustainability. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver energy management solutions, validate data from Building Management Systems and liaise with clients to ensure compliant, cost-effective outcomes.

The role involves on-site work, some out-of-hours support, and opportunities for hybrid working patterns across the UK.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or equivalent experience
• Applies energy management theory to clearly understood situations
• Takes ownership for preparation and checking of deliverables
• Very good working knowledge of relevant software and analytical tools
• Demonstrates good commercial awareness
• Has knowledge of contractors and services they provide
• Good oral communicator with ability to present arguments
• Understands risk assessment and mitigates hazards on projects
• Understands Building Management Systems (BMS) and energy data handling

Responsibilities

• Produce technically sound energy management solutions meeting applicable standards
• Oversee quality, cost and programme of deliverables and supervise junior staff
• Liaise with client and supplier representatives and attend progress meetings
• Contribute to bids and business development activities
• Work on site with flexibility for visiting or full-time temporary assignments

The Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Energy Manager to join our Consulting Advisory team covering Energy Transition & Sustainability.

The role

Responsibilities

• To work in a team, producing technically sound energy management solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements, working unsupervised and supporting colleagues on other contracts where necessary
• The preparation and checking of scheme deliverables that satisfy the overarching criteria of quality, cost and programme. Overseeing the actions of more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks and taking responsibility for their actions
• Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings, responding to queries etc.
• Contributing to the preparation of bids and the general work winning function
• Working on site, either on a visiting basis or in a full time but temporary role and including limited out of hours working and only when absolutely necessary

What You Will Bring To Us

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an appropriate subject or equivalent experience and knowledge skills
• Applies energy management theory and principles to clearly understood situations, where concepts are matched to problems
• Takes ownership for the preparation and checking of deliverables and is fully capable of working unsupervised and supervising more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks. Can check deliverables to a reasonable standard and takes ownership for this
• Very good working knowledge of relevant software and similar analytical tools
• Demonstrates good commercial awareness
• Has very good knowledge of contractors and types of services they provide
• Good oral communicator who is able to present arguments and ideas well
• Has a good understanding of risk assessment. Experienced in the management and communication of hazards and risks on projects and ensures appropriate risk mitigation and transference has been applied
• Demonstrates a good understanding of Building management systems (BMS) and can manipulate and handle all energy data (including half hourly data)
