Job summary

Chivas Brothers, part of Pernod Ricard, invites applications for an Energy Manager based in Kilmalid, Dumbarton. The role focuses on improving energy and utilities efficiency, driving cost strategies, and supporting continuous improvement across policy, compliance, and projects.

You will provide technical guidance, manage budgeting and reporting, coordinate ESOS audits, and lead initiatives in energy data management, driving sustainable practices across the business while operating in a hybrid

Qualifications

Engineering degree or demonstrable relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of utilities markets and energy conservation.
Experience in risk management and UK energy/Carbon legislation.
Ability to manage cost centres and project budgets within an integrated system.
Excellent data reporting and presenting to management.

Responsibilities

Manage external infrastructure improvements and upgrades.
Set annual utility budgets and manage water and trade effluent costs.
Develop carbon and water roadmaps to meet requirements.
Develop MI showing consumption trends and manage data/billing for locations.
Provide accruals for monthly spend.
Ensure compliance with UK legislation and ESOS audits.
Identify opportunities for consumption reductions and education initiatives.

About the role

We are currently hiring an Energy Manager to improve the energy and utilities efficiency standards and support continuous improvement and the adoption of best practice in energy consumption and cost strategy. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise, guidance and support and adding value in the development and maintenance of tasks which include policy, legal compliance, engineering projects, procurement, reporting, employee awareness and monitoring.

What you will do

Utilities & Infrastructure

Manage external infrastructure improvements and upgrades with relevant external providers and business partners.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement of commodity-traded utilities to reduce cost, working in partnership with Group Procurement and the risk management consultants.
Set the utility budgets for all areas of the business on an annual basis and manage costs and compliance associated with water and trade effluent.
Compile carbon and water roadmaps for the company to satisfy legislative and commercial requirements.

Data & Reporting

Develop effective management information showing specific consumption and trends.
Manage the data and billing and consumption requirements of all varied company locations.
Provide timely accruals to the Management Information team for predicted monthly spend on utilities.

Legal & Compliance

Primary Account Representative for relevant platforms and registry account.
Maintain knowledge of present and any future legal compliance with all relevant UK legislation.
Principal assessor for the Energy Saving Opportunities Scheme (ESOS) and complete energy reduction audits to the standard required by the ESOS.
Manage climate change levy tax relief documentation with HMRC and suppliers.
Develop and coordinate a site surveying programme to monitor compliance with best practice and policy. Provide detailed reporting and a site action plan.
Representative for the company in relevant industry bodies, working groups and forums.
Develop the company energy management policy and strategy documentation.
Manage and maintain regulatory data relating to energy, utilities and carbon.

Business Improvements

Identify areas of major waste or in need of in-depth study and identify specific opportunities for consumption reduction.
Develop and deliver education and awareness training to cover best practice, optimise process methods and reduce consumption.
Keep abreast of developments in technology and utilities management practice and use this information to support learning, innovation and continuous improvement.
Identify and deliver projects to improve the simplification and automation of utility data collection, handling and reporting.

Yourskills andbackground

Engineering degree, equivalent qualification, or demonstrable relevant experience.
In-depth knowledge and experience of the utilities markets and energy conservation, as well as experience with engineering projects, particularly those involving multiple process disciplines.
Experience of working in a risk management environment and an understanding of current UK energy and Carbon related legislation.
Capability to financially manage cost centre and project budgets, with experience working with an integrated business management system.
Ability to collate and manage data into informative and relevant reports and to present to management and project teams in clear and concise way.
Have a current valid UK driving licence.
