Job description
The Role

As an Energy & Carbon Analyst, you will support the delivery of QinetiQ’s Net Zero plan by providing and managing the highest quality data and analysis to the Energy Team and wider business. Your work will help ensure our emissions reporting is accurate, transparent and compliant, while also identifying opportunities for energy and carbon reduction across the Group.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Collection, calculation, assurance and reporting of Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions for the QinetiQ Group
  • Supporting the delivery of the QinetiQ Net Zero plan by providing analysis for emission-reduction projects and initiatives
  • Development and management of tools to analyse energy and emissions data to identify and track saving opportunities
  • Providing energy and emissions analysis for audits, compliance and internal reporting
  • Supporting the transition from Excel-based reporting to a new digital platform to improve data integrity and efficiency
  • Engaging with stakeholders across the business to promote sustainability and energy awareness
Essential experience of the Energy & Carbon Analyst:
  • Strong data analysis, modelling and management skills
  • Experience in greenhouse gas (GHG) data collection, conversion and reporting
  • Knowledge of carbon conversion techniques and GHG reporting frameworks
  • Experience supporting audit and assurance processes such as ISO 50001 or ESOS
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and data handling skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management, with the ability to convey technical information clearly
Essential qualifications for the Energy & Carbon Analyst:
  • Degree (or higher) in an analytical or environmental discipline
  • Experience in GHG reporting and emissions assurance
  • Understanding of Net Zero and sustainability frameworks such as SBTi

This role is 37 hours per week, based remotely anywhere in the UK. Hybrid working patterns are available. Travel to QinetiQ sites (typically once a month) may be required.
