London Fire Brigade (LFB) is London’s Fire and Rescue Service – one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. We are here to make London a safer city.

We employ over 5,500 people, across our operational team (our firefighters), control (our call handlers who answer your 999 calls) and our non-operational team (our teams who work behind the scenes to support our front‑line services, including HR, IT, Finance, Procurement, Communications etc.).

LFB has an interesting role available to assist with the delivery of the strategic carbon reduction plan. This post will provide and support to the carbon reduction team. They will be responsible for the programming of the LFB strategic carbon reduction programme. Preparation, management and reporting of the annual energy budget and carbon emissions. Act as the lead officer for ensuring administration of the LFB carbon net zero project and documentation of monthly monitoring meets. Provision of administration support to the Head of Carbon Reduction to liaise with the carbon net zero project of CRMP.

  2. Experience of working flexibly as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
  3. Good organisational skills with a methodical approach in order to undertake a range of duties together with an ability to respond effectively to changing priorities and to ensure deadlines are met.
  4. Good interpersonal skills in order to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff at all levels and representatives of external organisations, and to ensure a high level of customer care is provided at all times.
