A healthcare provider in South Wales is seeking a qualified nurse to provide direct patient care during endoscopic procedures. The successful candidate will assist endoscopists and ensure patient safety and dignity throughout the process. Key responsibilities include operational management of the Endoscopy Unit when needed and participation in the on-call rota. The main purpose of the job is to ensure the provision of the highest standard of direct patient care for patients undergoing a range of endoscopic procedures. The post holder will assist the endoscopist and support patients, with emphasis on patient safety and dignity during all aspects of endoscopy procedures. The post holder will ensure efficient communication and education in health promotion which reflects the quality standards and mission of the University Health Board. In the absence of the unit sister/deputy sister the post holder may have responsibility for the operational management of the Endoscopy Unit. On completion of competencies the post holder may be required to contribute to the out of hours on call rota to support consultant staff managing emergency care of patients deemed by the on-call consultant to require intervention.
