Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Endoscopy Team at Charing Cross Hospital. You will deliver safe, patient-centred care for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures and work within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

You will undertake pre-, intra-, and post-procedure assessments, support the Endoscopy Unit Manager in daily operations, and contribute to teaching and development of nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, patient-centred nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
• Perform comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-procedure assessments and plan care accordingly.
• Support unit management in daily operations and maintain safe standards of care.
• Coordinate patient care for assigned groups during shifts.
• Assess patient, relative and carer needs and provide information as requested.
• Assist in teaching and developing nursing assistants and pre-registration students.
• Keep up to date with nursing developments and evidence-based practice.
• Develop new skills relating to endoscopy as advised by the Endoscopy manager.
• Engage in personal development through appraisal and formal development plans.
