Job summary

Wye Valley NHS Trust is recruiting a Band 2 Decontamination Technician for the Endoscopy Unit at Hereford County Hospital and Ross-on-Wye Community Hospital. The role involves processing endoscopes and ensuring equipment readiness for daily lists.

You will work as part of an on-call rota, contributing to patient safety through cleaning, disassembly, inspection, reassembly and sterilisation of medical devices in a busy NHS setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow instructions, set routines and procedures.
• Requirement to learn about decontamination issues.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to a wide range of people.
• Demonstrate knowledge of roles and responsibility within the clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Support safe and effective reprocessing of usable medical devices.
• Clean, disassemble, inspect, reassemble, package and sterilise devices.
• Work under supervision in Hereford County Hospital and Ross-on-Wye Community Hospital.
