Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent part time Enablement Support Worker with one of the country’s biggest and most diverse Local Authorities. Whether you are looking to start a career or develop an existing one in Health and Social Care this is a job for you. The KEaH Thanet Enablement Team is based at St Peters House, Broadstairs, with an expectation to deliver support in Ramsgate, Margate, Birchington and surrounding areas. The Kent Enablement at Home service is recognised as a leader in its field, offering excellent work benefits and a comprehensive training programme. Enablement focuses on taking an individual on a journey to independence or reducing long-term care needs through planned support with aspects of daily living including personal care, working with a structured team (Enablement Locality Organiser, Enablement Supervisors, Social Workers, Occupational Therapist and multi-agency partners in KCC and health).

  • Willingness to learn and a proactive approach to their own development. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements
  • The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day (during shift hours) is essential. You should note that public transport is rarely a viable option as some rural areas of Kent often have limited public transport.
