Job summary

Chiltern Way Academy Wendover provides education and care for young people aged 11-19 with ASC. We are looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to help our students thrive both in and out of the classroom.

You will support teachers in delivering learning activities, work with individuals and small groups to help them progress, promote positive behaviour and build positive relationships within a supportive team. GCSE English & Maths (A-C) and NVQ Level 2 are desirable qualifications.

Qualifications

• GCSE English & Maths (A-C) are required; NVQ Level 2 is desirable.
• Experience working with children or young people is expected.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering learning activities
• Work with individuals and small groups to help them progress
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and independence
• Help create a calm, safe and supportive learning environment
• Build positive relationships with students and staff
• Assist with basic planning, preparation and classroom organisation
