Job summary

Voyage Care Lowestoft is seeking an experienced Support Worker to help people feel understood, supported and confident to take their next step. You’ll work with individuals needing enhanced support to build independence, learn life skills and enjoy life on their terms.

You’ll provide practical and emotional support across daily routines, personal care, community access and activities, following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflecting on practice to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient and genuinely hands-on.
• Resilient, flexible and composed.
• Experienced in supporting people with enhanced needs.
• Confident following Positive Behaviour Support plans.
• Experienced with reflective practice.
• Comfortable supporting people with complex needs, including mental health and trauma.
• Committed to helping people develop confidence and independence.

Responsibilities

• Support people with their everyday routines and personal care.
• Encourage independence and help develop new life skills.
• Support people to access their local community and enjoy activities.
• Take part in trips, outings and activities chosen by the people we support.
• Provide reassurance and emotional support.
• Help people work towards personal goals and celebrate their progress.
• Follow Positive Behaviour Support plans and use reflective practice.
• Provide enhanced support for people with behaviours of distress and trauma.
