Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking a warm Pastoral Support Worker to join a friendly primary school in Brent from October 2026, supporting pupils across EYFS to KS2, focusing on academic, social and emotional development. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, promote wellbeing, positive behaviour and resilience, and work with teachers, SEN staff and social workers.

The role suits a psychology graduate or someone interested in social care, with safeguarding knowledge and good English and Maths

Qualifications

  • Empathy and warmth when supporting pupils.
  • Patience and emotional maturity in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding best practices and procedures.
  • Experience in schools, childcare, youth work or mentoring is desirable.
  • Solid grounding in English and Maths to support teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with barriers to learning.
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour and resilience.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff and social workers to target support.
  • Create a calm, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Adapt to pupils' needs and the school day.
