Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is recruiting two part-time Child and Family Centre Workers for Fenland, based in Chatteris and Wisbech. You will deliver activities and support services for children aged 0-5 and their families across centres and outreach locations.

The role focuses on safeguarding, inclusion and community engagement, with DBS clearance required and occasional evening/weekend work may be needed.

Qualifications

• Experience of working directly with children aged 0-5 and their families.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and child development.
• Understanding safeguarding, child protection procedures and professional boundaries.
• Confidence delivering group activities and engaging parents and carers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships.
• Good organisational skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and data recording systems.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging activities, support sessions and learning opportunities for children and families.
• Support families to access information, advice, guidance and local services.
• Facilitate group sessions and activities for parents, carers and young children.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
• Encourage families to engage with community activities and services.
• Maintain accurate records, attendance information and evaluations.
• Work with colleagues and partner organisations to ensure families receive support.
• Promote safeguarding, inclusion and wellbeing in all work aspects.
• Support delivery of services across Fenland centres and community venues.
