Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Taunton is seeking compassionate Support Workers to join our mental health team. You will work 38.5 hours per week in a structured, therapeutic setting, providing high-quality care and practical support to adults with mental health needs.

Shifts include days, nights and weekends; driving or reliable transport is highly desirable. DBS check is required for successful applicants, and ongoing training is provided to support professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience in health and social care, mental health support, learning disabilities or complex needs.
• Live locally to Taunton or within reliable commuting distance.
• Able to work flexible rota including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and support to service users, patients and residents.
• Offer emotional and practical support to help individuals feel safe and understood.
• Support daily routines, independence and wellbeing.
• Learn each individual's needs and deliver person-centred support.
• Assist with medical, welfare and physical health needs and report concerns.
• Help safeguard vulnerable adults and maintain professional boundaries.
• Maintain a safe, clean and supportive environment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
