Employment Senior Associate / Legal Director - Bristol - 7+ Years PQE

Location: Bristol

Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (with hybrid flexibility)

Salary: £85,000 to £110,000 (depending on experience)

A respected national law firm is seeking a Senior Associate or Legal Director (7+ PQE) to join its highly ranked Employment, Pensions and Immigration team. With a strong reputation in health and social care, local government, housing, and emerging markets such as finance and higher education, this is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact in a high‑performing, collaborative environment.

The Role
  • Advising healthcare sector clients including NHS organisations, independent healthcare providers, and voluntary sector operators
  • Managing complex employment litigation in tribunals and higher courts
  • Supporting partner leads and multi‑disciplinary teams on transactions and advisory matters
  • Providing employment support on TUPE, restructures, redundancy processes, and contractual frameworks
  • Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives
  • Supervising junior colleagues and supporting their professional growth
  • Delivering training and contributing to client relationship management
Candidate Requirements
  • 7+ years PQE in employment law, ideally with health and care sector experience
  • Strong litigation and/or advocacy skills with capability to manage complex, high‑profile cases
  • TUPE and transactional experience, including drafting warranties and indemnities
  • Experience advising on NHS workforce frameworks desirable but not essential
  • Broad employment law expertise across advisory, transactional, and contentious work
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and client management skills
  • Ability to supervise and mentor junior colleagues
  • Motivation, organisation, and a proactive mindset
