Job summary

A leading law firm in Manchester is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate Solicitor to support clients on contentious and non-contentious employment law cases. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in employment law, a Practising Certificate in the UK, and the ability to manage a busy caseload. Our client is a modern and progressive multi office law firm and is also part of a Fortune 500 global listed company.

We currently have a new role for an Associate or Senior Associate Solicitor in the Manchester office working on a hybrid basis supporting on both conscientious and non-contentious employment law cases on behalf of the firm's SME and large national / international businesses. You'll be joining a growing legal 500 recognised team spanning several offices.

What you’ll be doing

You will support clients on a range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters, including:

• Advising on ACAS early conciliation, prospects, HR issues, and grievance / disciplinary procedures
• Drafting and reviewing contracts, handbooks, and settlement agreements
• Managing Employment Tribunal and EAT claims, from instruction to hearing on behalf of defendants / respondents
• Conducting advocacy (where appropriate), case management, witness statements, and client briefings
• Delivering training, legal updates, and contributing to cross-team knowledge sharing
• Building and nurturing strong client relationships

To succeed in this role you will have

• Strong experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law
• 5PQE experience
• Current Practising Certificate as a solicitor or barrister in the UK
• Excellent communication, drafting and analytical skills
• Confidence in client-facing roles, with strong commercial awareness
• Ability to manage a busy caseload with independence and efficiency
• Commitment to CPD, teamwork and continuous improvement

Salary to £65k plus 10% bonus plus fantastic benefits package.
