Job summary

A prominent legal recruitment agency is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate Solicitor in Manchester. The role involves advising on employment law cases and requires strong experience in both contentious and non-contentious areas. The ideal candidate will possess a current Practising Certificate and have 5PQE experience. This position offers a salary of up to £65k, plus a 10% bonus and an excellent benefits package.

Job description

Our client is a modern and progressive multi office law firm and is also part of a Fortune 500 global listed company.

We currently have a new role for an Associate or Senior Associate Solicitor in the Manchester office working on a hybrid basis supporting on both conscientious and non-contentious employment law cases on behalf of the firm's SME and large national / international businesses. You'll be joining a growing legal 500 recognised team spanning several offices.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Advising on ACAS early conciliation, prospects, HR issues, and grievance/disciplinary procedures
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, handbooks, and settlement agreements
  • Managing Employment Tribunal and EAT claims, from instruction to hearing on behalf of defendants / respondents
  • Conducting advocacy (where appropriate), case management, witness statements, and client briefings
  • Delivering training, legal updates, and contributing to cross-team knowledge sharing
  • Building and nurturing strong client relationships
To succeed in this role you will have:
  • Strong experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law
  • 5PQE experience
  • Current Practising Certificate as a solicitor or barrister in the UK
  • Excellent communication, drafting and analytical skills
  • Confidence in client-facing roles, with strong commercial awareness
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload with independence and efficiency
  • Commitment to CPD, teamwork and continuous improvement

Salary to £65k plus 10% bonus plus fantastic benefits package.
