Job summary

Meraki Talent in Jersey seeks an experienced Employment Lawyer to join a well-established firm in the Channel Islands. You will advise employers and individuals on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters, building strong client relationships and contributing to the growth of the employment practice.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employment Lawyer to join a well-established and highly regarded law firm in Jersey, Channel Islands.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a background in employment law to join a respected practice advising a diverse client base on a broad range of employment-related matters. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering high-quality legal advice, developing client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the employment practice.

The Role

The position will involve advising employers and, where appropriate, individuals on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:

• Employment contracts, policies and staff handbooks.
• Disciplinary, grievance and performance management matters.
• Redundancies, restructures and termination of employment.
• Employment disputes, tribunal proceedings and settlement negotiations.
• Employment-related regulatory and compliance issues.
• Providing practical, commercially focused advice to clients on day-to-day employment matters.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Qualification as a solicitor in Jersey, England and Wales, or another relevant jurisdiction, subject to applicable practice requirements.
• Experience in employment law, covering both contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Strong technical legal knowledge and excellent drafting and communication skills.
• A commercially minded approach and the ability to build trusted client relationships.
• The confidence to manage matters independently while working collaboratively within a team.
