Employment Legal Counsel

Location: South East England

Salary: £47,389 to £56,535

Contract: Permanent- Full-time

Working arrangement: Hybrid

Sellick Partnership are pleased to be working with one of our highly regarded higher education institutions to recruit a motivated individual to join their team as an Employment Legal Counsel. The candidate would be joining a friendly team on a hybrid basis with their office located in the South East of England

Key responsibilities of the Employment Legal Counsel:
  • Providing legal advice on both contentious and non-contentious employment law issues
  • Handling Employment Tribunal claims from inception to final hearing
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Drafting, updating and reviewing employment contracts, policies and procedures, settlement agreements and other employment related documentation, including the employment law provisions of wider commercial agreements
Key competencies of the Employment Legal Counsel:
  • A driven individual to work both independently and collaboratively with the team and wider stakeholders
  • Strong drafting skills in relation to contentious and non-contentious work
  • Ability to communicate complex legal matters to colleagues in an understandable and informative way
Key requirements for the Employment Legal Counsel:
  • A qualified solicitor or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years' post qualification experience, specialising in employment law
  • Competency in core IT applications
