An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employability Coordinator to join our Employability team at Carshalton and Merton Colleges!

Overview

As Employability Coordinator, you will build on our existing external employer partnerships, build new ones, and oversee the monitoring and organisation of Work Placements and Employability activities for our full‑time learners.

Working with the Head of Employability, you will ensure all our Study Programme/T-Level learners gain meaningful work experience/industry placements, adhere to health and safety policies and practices and monitor and record work experience/placements on college systems.

Responsibilities
  • Build on and develop new external employer partnerships.
  • Oversee the monitoring and organisation of Work Placements and Employability activities for full‑time learners.
  • Ensure learners gain meaningful industry placements and comply with health and safety policies.
  • Record and report work experience/placements using college systems.
  • Develop proactive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work well under pressure, meet agreed deadlines and be receptive to new ideas and initiatives.
  • Apply creative approaches to problem‑solving.
Qualifications
  • Degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject.
  • Active and experienced in generating employer links across a wide range of industries.
  • Strong engagement skills and confidence in dealing with stakeholders.
  • High personal standards and expectations with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Receptive to new ideas and initiatives, with a creative approach to problem‑solving.
