Employability and Placement Advisor (25/430)

£25,829 - £27,060 per annum

37 hours per week

We are now offering a fantastic opportunity to join the East Riding College in the role of Employability and Placement Advisor. If you are a team player who is passionate about helping learners reach their full potential, then we want to hear from you!

About the role

We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our well-established employability and placement team. This is a fast‑paced and diverse role in which you will work closely with many different parts of the organisation, as well as liaising with external employers. The post holder will engage with key stakeholders to build collaborative partnerships across the region. The post holder will also work closely with the Employability and Placement Co‑ordinators to plan a range of employability activities for learners, including industry talks and visits.

Other duties
  • To plan, promote and deliver employer awareness sessions, employer experiences, and employer‑ready activities for all learners.
  • To seek and develop effective relationships with businesses to ensure meaningful employer involvement across all programmes.
  • To ensure that all learners undertake significant and meaningful activity involving employers during their study and develop employability skills.
About the person

We are seeking a passionate, proactive, and student‑focused individual who is committed to empowering young people through meaningful employability and work experience opportunities. You will have a strong understanding of the challenges and barriers faced by students in further education and be driven to make a real difference in their journey toward employment.

You will be skilled at building strong relationships with both students and external stakeholders, including employers, community organisations, and industry partners. Your ability to engage, motivate, and support young people will be essential, along with a creative and flexible approach to deliver employability initiatives.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication, organisation, and administrative skills, which are key, as is the ability to manage multiple projects. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment and is committed to helping every young person realise their potential and succeed in the world of work.

Candidates will also need to be able to travel around the area to visit employers hosting work placements so will need access to their own transport.
