Job summary

Ripple Education is seeking a dedicated SEND Support Assistant for roles in Amble and surrounding areas. You will support children with additional needs, working 1:1 or in small groups, under the guidance of teachers and SENCOs.

Experience with SEND is valued; training and development opportunities are provided. A patient, compassionate approach and safeguarding awareness are essential for creating a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Patient, calm and compassionate approach.
• Interest in supporting children with additional needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Willingness to undertake SEND training.
• A Teaching Assistant or childcare qualification is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1, small-group or classroom support.
• Support children with learning, communication and development.
• Help pupils develop independence, confidence and social skills.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
• Support children with emotional regulation and engagement.
• Work with teachers and SENCOs.
• Follow safeguarding procedures.
