Job description

The job will involve supporting the emotional needs of the children and young people from Dorset who have been diagnosed with ME/CFS and delivering flexible, brief, evidence-based interventions. The post works alongside a specialist, experienced team.

This role is for an experienced practitioner who has the skills and experience to work psychologically with children and young people with ME/CFS who have complex needs.

Employment: 8.25 hrs per week, with flexibility required to meet the needs of the service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist care and interventions, assessments, and manage patients on a caseload as part of a wider multi‑disciplinary care team.
  • Offer specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of service users.
  • Devise specialist programmes of care for other professionals to deliver and ensure they are delivered appropriately.
  • Plan, implement and review health improvement programmes in a range of settings.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, training and support to other members of the team.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience working psychologically with children and young people with ME/CFS and complex needs.
  • Enhanced DBS check required (cost covered by the Trust).
  • Applicants requiring current skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible for this position.
  • Availability for 8.25 hrs per week with flexible working arrangements.
