Job summary

SGN is hiring an Emerging Talent Advisor to join our Emerging Talent Team. You will identify, develop and deliver early careers learning programmes across SGN UK locations, helping shape our future talent community.

You will coordinate talent initiatives, manage learning projects end-to-end, and work with internal stakeholders and training partners. Positive, proactive collaboration and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of apprenticeship and/or graduate programme management within a highly compliant industry.
  • Able to effectively communicate and liaise with stakeholders at varying levels, work to tight deadlines, prioritise workloads and manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Identify issues proactively and ensure timely resolution.
  • Experience of funded learning programmes – DoE/SDS funding regulations and apprenticeship frameworks/standards.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office packages.

Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate the implementation of the emerging talent strategy across SGN UK locations, providing practical and strategic advice to ensure delivery.
  • Review the talent development cycle and processes, driving quality and programme delivery improvements.
  • Oversee learning and skills delivery across SGN locations using Cornerstone LMS and external training partners.
  • Manage relationships with training suppliers, colleges, universities, professional bodies, and internal SMEs/stakeholders.
  • Monitor progression for individuals and programmes, offering pastoral support to the emerging talent community.
  • Support early talent recruitment campaigns with the People Directorate (schools events, careers fairs, assessment days).
  • Design, coordinate and deliver emerging talent induction programmes.

Salary: £35.9 - £44.4k per annum (Dependent on skills & experience)

We are looking for an Emerging Talent Advisor to join us in our Emerging Talent Team. You will identify, develop and deliver early careers focused programmes of learning across SGN UK locations. You will play an integral part in the development of SGN’s future talent community. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and enjoys working with others in a positive and team-oriented setting.

I help to keep people safe and warm by…
  • Supporting and coordinating the implementation of the emerging talent strategy across SGN UK locations, providing both practical and strategic advice, guidance, and support to internal stakeholders to ensure talent programmes are effectively delivered
  • Continually reviewing the talent development cycle, experience, and processes – being responsible for the effective implementation of quality, strategic, and programme delivery improvement plans
  • Being responsible for learning and skills delivery of emerging talent activities across all SGN locations, using our internal Learning Management System (Cornerstone), internal and external training partners
  • Positively managing relationships with our internal and external training suppliers, colleges, universities, professional bodies, and internal SMEs/stakeholders
  • Managing individual and programme learning & skills progression throughout the programme duration, offering advice and pastoral support to our emerging talent community
  • Working with the wider People Directorate to support early talent recruitment campaigns, including school events, careers fairs, and assessment days.
  • Managing the design, coordination, and delivery of emerging talent induction programmes
What You’ll Need
  • Previous experience of apprenticeship and/or graduate programme management within a highly compliant industry

Travel between regions & academic providers will be necessary, therefore a full, clean driving license and use of personal vehicle is required
