Job summary

AMA Admin is seeking a Psychology graduate to join our Learning Support Assistant team in a specialist school in Maidenhead/Clapham Junction area. You will support students with SEMH needs, autism and challenging behaviour, focusing on emotional regulation and engagement.

This role offers hands-on experience in behaviour intervention and trauma-informed approaches, with daily pay of £107.40 to £125 during term time, and full training provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Psychology, Criminology or related fields.
• Non-graduates with relevant experience in youth work or social care are welcome.
• Interest in working with young people at risk of entering the criminal justice system.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach with de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with students to encourage trust and engagement.
• Support pupils in managing emotions and regulating behaviour.
• Provide academic and emotional support in small groups or one-to-one.
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and maintain student focus.
• Apply restorative justice and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour management.
• Help students develop life skills for reintegration into education and society.
