Job summary

Vets Now, the UK’s leading emergency pet care provider, seeks a dedicated Veterinary Nurse for its out-of-hours team in a 24/7 hospital. You will work across ICU, triage and wards, handling emergency and critical care cases with a focus on patient stability and comfort.

Benefits include CPD opportunities, ECC certificate support, and enhanced sickness and maternity pay. The role involves 12-hour night shifts across a 3-on/5-off pattern, with bank holidays and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Triage: Conduct initial assessments of incoming emergency cases, prioritising patients based on their severity and assisting in stabilising critical patients upon their arrival.
• ICU: Provide specialised care for critically ill animals, monitor vital signs and assisting Veterinary Surgeons in complex medical procedures and resuscitation efforts.
• Wards: Deliver comprehensive inpatient care, including administering medications, managing feeding schedules, and ensuring a comfortable environment for recovering animals from both the emergency and referral services.
