A regional fire and rescue service is seeking an Emergency Planning Assistant to support their Resilience Planning & Contingencies department. The ideal candidate will assist in developing emergency plans, facilitate consultations, and help in delivering exercises. An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and good knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential. This role offers a competitive salary and flexible working conditions.

The overall purpose of the role will be to support the Resilience Planning & Contingencies department in all aspects of emergency planning, business continuity, and Local Resilience Forum workstreams. As the Emergency Planning Assistant, you will support South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue to meet its duties under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
To be considered for this role you will have an awareness of emergency planning but previous experience of working in emergency planning, business continuity, or related fields is desirable and not essential. You must be highly motivated and committed to achieving team objectives, you will hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.

New starters will commence on the bottom of the salary grade and will receive increases to the top of the grade on an incremental basis.
Most corporate roles offer flexi time and agile working, allowing hours to suit commitments outside of work as agreed with line manager. Flexi time can be accrued with a potential of up to 13 days to be taken within a year.
