Your main duties and responsibilities
  • Leading development and implementation of the University’s Emergency Planning and Business Continuity frameworks, ensuring they remain compliant, effective and up to date
  • Coordinating and supporting incident response activities, including the design, and delivery of training and exercises, and provide expert advice during live incidents and post incident reviews
  • Building and maintaining strong networks internally and externally – including with emergency services and local authorities – to strengthen resilience and share best practice

About You
  • Proven experience developing and managing emergency planning and business continuity frameworks within a large or complex organisation
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and sector guidance, including the Civil Contingencies Act and related frameworks
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, able to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A confident, analytical and calm approach, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance strategic planning with operational detail
