The post holder will autonomously undertake assessment and treatment of patients in the Urgent care who may present with Minor illnesses and/or injury; to determine a clinical diagnosis, treatment and appropriate discharge as indicated as well as maintaining comprehensive patient records. To independently undertake highly specialized clinical assessments, diagnose, treat and discharge patients with a wide range of minor illnesses and injuries, including management of complex cases using evidence based practice. To refer appropriately to senior team, medical teams and multi-disciplinary professionals where a second opinion is required. Provide specialist advice relating to minor illness and/or injury to local healthcare teams, patients, relatives and carers. Ensuring that patient records and documentation are maintained in line with NMC/ HCPC standards, Trust policies and use of the electronic patient records system. Work within local protocols, guidelines, PGDs (Patient Group Directives).
