Emergency Nurse Practitioner - 12 month fixed term post

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 7 Emergency Nurse Practitioner to come and join the Minor Injury Units located at both Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda and the Royal Glamorgan Hospital for a 12 month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. The post is fixed term for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

The successful candidate will be required to have completed an accredited autonomous practice course in minor injuries (Level 7 Diploma in the Autonomous Management of Minor Injuries (Wales) QCF (Agored 2016 & RCEM 2016)), whilst have gained knowledge and expertise in their clinical activities.

This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. Main duties of the job

We are seeking to recruit an experienced ENP for a 12 month fixed term post, who holds the Emergency Nurse Practitioner or equivalent qualification. The successful candidate will need to have a clear vision for best practice and evidence of complex decision‑making skills.

The post holder will be working as an autonomous practitioner within our Minor Injury Units and will be part of our existing Emergency Nurse Practitioner team, providing a high quality service and clinical evidence‑based care whilst ensuring a positive learning environment for all staff.

The successful candidate will have experience in assessing individual patients, determining a differential diagnosis, initiating investigations and initiating appropriate evidence‑based treatment and discharge or refer patients in accordance with agreed clinical guidelines.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the development of a team culture that improves quality and enhances the patient experience. The post holder will be working as part of the Emergency Nurse Practitioner team, providing a high quality service and clinical evidence‑based care whilst ensuring a positive learning environment for all staff.

Person Specification
  • 1st level Registered Nurse with current live PIN on NMC register.
  • Post grad Diploma level course, or evidence of equivalent knowledge acquired through experience.
  • Achievement of the All Wales Competency Framework for Emergency Nurse Practitioner Toolkit.
  • >Considerable post registration experience working in an acute care setting.
  • Clinical and theoretical skills relating to the management of acute/chronic conditions.
  • Welsh Language Speaking/Listening Skills at Level 3 or above.
