Overview

Interview expected to take place in the week following shortlisting: commencing 29.12.2025. As an Emergency Nurse Practitioner you will be expected to assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of minor injuries independently, provide expert clinical decision-making in a fast‑paced setting, work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver seamless urgent care and support paediatric and adult patients, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of minor injuries in adults and children (age 1+).
  • Order and interpret diagnostic investigations such as X‑rays and blood tests where appropriate.
  • Prescribe medications / use Patient Group Directions (PGDs) within scope of practice and provide safe discharge plans.
  • Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care in line with local and national guidelines.
  • Ensure safeguarding principles are applied for all patients, particularly children and vulnerable adults.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions.
  • Act as a clinical resource and mentor for junior staff and students.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in audits, clinical governance and risk management activities.
  • Provide clear, empathetic explanations to patients and families.
  • Liaise effectively with GPs, ED teams, radiology and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
