The Emergency Department at University Hospital Southampton is seeking a registered general nurse for a six-month bank placement, advertised by NHS Professionals for the trust. You will provide individualised nursing care from initial assessment through planning and recording, and you may teach learners.

Shifts are day shifts, Monday to Friday, with flexibility. You must hold a valid NMC PIN and have at least six months' ED experience in the UK within the past two years.

Responsabilidades

• Provide individualised nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Undertake initial assessment of patients arriving in A&E without a diagnosis
• Maintain and update patient care plans
• Carry out nursing care and procedures within policy
• Give and receive progress reports and escalate changes in condition
• Teach learners and junior staff on the ward
• Keep accurate records in line with NMC
• Administer prescribed drugs and IV medications when authorised
• Communicate with colleagues and support ward leadership
• Support discharge planning for named patients
