A leading healthcare organization in York is seeking an Emergency Department Patient Flow Coordinator. The role involves supporting the nursing team to ensure efficient patient movement and care in the Emergency Department. Candidates should have strong communication skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and experience in NHS administration. The Patient Flow Coordinator's primary role is to support the Nurse in Charge (NiC), Emergency Physician in Charge (EPiC), and the broader Emergency Department (ED) team in delivering high-quality patient care, while ensuring smooth patient flow through the department by minimising unnecessary delays.
Working under the direction of the NiC, the Patient Flow Coordinator will collaborate with the ED team and manage administrative tasks, liaising with other departments and help patient movement through the department. By coordinating these efforts, the postholder will contribute to the efficient operation of the ED, ultimately reducing patient journey times and enhancing overall departmental effectiveness.
