Job summary

Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced nurse to join the Emergency Department. You will work in a dynamic team delivering high-quality emergency care to Gateshead and surrounding areas.

The role requires ability to work under pressure, excellent communication, and a commitment to CPD with mandatory RCN level 1 Emergency Nurse competencies within 12 months. Shifts include day, night, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Nursing required.
• Current NMC Registration as Registered Nurse Part 1.

Responsibilities

• Promote and deliver patient centred care aligned with the Trust vision and Nursing and Midwifery strategy.
• Take a lead role in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse/Deputy Sister.
• Deliver all aspects of care and may be required to demonstrate procedures and supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff.
• Responsible for the patients clinical journey along agreed patient care pathways, supported by evidence-based practice.
• Provide the highest standard of safe, effective and compassionate care through the use of evidence-based practice in line with local and national standards and the NMC Code.
• Support a continuously improving service, in line with the clinical governance framework, Trust objectives, and the NHS performance framework.
• Provide clinical advice and support to the nursing and multi-professional team to facilitate care at all times.
• Continually develop professionally to meet service/specialty requirements.
• Participate in Preceptorship/ mentorship and development programmes.
