Job description

London Central & West UCC are looking for Emergency Care Practitioners to join our team at West Middlesex Urgent Treatment Centre.LCW are currently working in partnership with Chelsea & WestminsterHospital Trust to provide clinical care at the UTC.

We are looking for ECPs who wish to work full time or part time to join our skilledclinicians and build a career, not justa job. You should be either NMC or HCPC registered, with experience working in urgent care.

Main duties of the job

Working Pattern:

12 hours shifts, 3 days per week across 7 days

As an ECP in the Urgent Treatment Centre, you will be partof the team delivering excellent care to one of the most diverse populations inNorthwest London. You will be responsible for the autonomous clinicalassessment, treatment and/or referral or giving advise as appropriate. You willbe responsible for handling a wide case mix, supporting GPs and ANPs within thescope of a typical ECP at an Urgent Treatment Centre.

You will be working autonomously in a fast-paced environmentand part of a multi-disciplinary team which is supportive and open. ECPs play avital role in the shaping of our UTC services, and you will be part of a teamwhich is encouraged to be innovative and shape patient flow and streamlineefficiencies.

Job responsibilities
  • To participate in assessment, planning and delivery of direct patientcare across the Urgent Treatment Centre
  • Must be able to clearly demonstrate specialist knowledge and skills atan advanced level
  • Will practice autonomously and within a defined multidisciplinary teamin accordance with local guidelines and protocols
  • Provide initial history taking clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatmentand evaluation of care
  • Demonstrate critical thinking in the decision-making process
  • Deliver a professional approach to the provision of high-quality care
  • To be fully accountable and responsible for own patient list andmanaging workload during shift
  • Independently assess, investigate, diagnose and treat patients withincompetency.
  • Manage see and treat environment safely, ensure safe and effectivepractice at all times from all key personnel working within that area.
  • To initiate, promote and maintain high standards of practice within theteam in line with departmental requirements.
  • To provide clinical expertise both on shift and when representing thedepartment.
Person Specification
Qualifications
  • NMC registered Nurse or HCPC registered Paramedic
  • Evidence of relevant CPD
  • Qualifications to support emergency and/or urgent care practice
  • Advanced Life Support Instructor
Experience
  • Extensive experience in relevant field in current clinical practice in an emergency or urgent care environment
  • Relevant transferable skills
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced clinical skills e.g. history taking, physical assessments and clerking of patients presenting with undifferentiated diagnoses
  • Evidence of innovative practice developments and significant achievements gained
