Qualifications

• 5-10 years related experience in mechanical assembly.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical assemblies.
• Experience in helium leak detection is preferred.

Responsibilities

Kurt J. Lesker Company is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical assembly technician to join our Process Equipment Division. This person is responsible for the assembly of standard and custom products, sub-assemblies and coating systems. Assembles or modifies mechanical assemblies from schematics or work instructions of a higher complexity. Additional leadership roles and / or administrative responsibilities maybe included. Key Job Elements

• Assembly and testing of higher level mechanical assemblies
• Mounting of mechanical sub-assemblies
• Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and / or electrical assemblies
• Ability to perform helium leak detection
• May include leadership roles to assist Manager in quality control, scheduling and daily activities
• May include some customer interaction and on-site service work
• Training of other technicians on proper methods and techniques regarding assembly tasks
• Ability to safely use standard tools and portable power equipment
• May include some basic manual machining capabilities
• Perform work in a logical, orderly and skillful manner while maintaining a high level of quality workmanship
• Clean and maintain work area
• Typical working hours: Weekdays 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM may include required overtime
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

Required

• GCSE’s or equivalent
• 5 – 10 years related experience
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist and lift up to and including 14KG unassisted. Assistance must be used for any items over this weight. Assistance is always required for anything weighing over 27Kg.

• Vocational training
• Supervisor experience
• Basic understanding of vacuum technology

Working Environment

• Environmentally controlled assembly floor and clean room
• Modern office environment
• Occasional tasks within the KJLC machine shop
• Personal protective equipment as required
  
  

Equipment

• Standard mechanical hand tools
• Portable drills, heat guns, multi-meters, amp meters and soldering stations
• Possible manual shop machinery, such as a drill press, shear, band saw, horizontal mill and lathe.
• PC and standard manufacturing and administrative programs
• Other equipment supplied as required
