Job summary

Howett Thorpe is partnering with a global organisation for a 6-month fixed-term Financial Controller - EMEA role. The candidate will lead a complex revenue recognition reconciliation across multiple entities, challenging existing treatments and driving root-cause analysis to ensure accurate reporting under IFRS and US GAAP.

Hybrid working pattern with private healthcare and pension. You will collaborate with Finance and the business to improve processes and controls around revenue reporting,

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of revenue recognition under IFRS and US GAAP.
• Experience with complex multi-entity reconciliations.
• Ability to investigate historic discrepancies and fix root causes.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a revenue recognition reconciliation project across multiple EMEA entities.
• Review revenue-related balance sheet and P&L accounts for discrepancies.
• Investigate differences between contracts, billing and supporting docs.
• Assess application of POC accounting across contracts and projects.
• Prepare or recommend correcting journals and adjustments.
• Ensure IFRS/US GAAP compliant revenue recognition.
• Identify process weaknesses and recommend improvements.
• Provide updates to senior stakeholders on issues and progress.
