The role

Group Financial Controller - EMEA

Leeds | Hybrid (3 days in the office) | £85,000 - £95,000 + Benefits

If you're an experienced Financial Controller who enjoys working across an international business, getting into the detail and having real influence over the numbers, this could be a great next step.

We're partnering with a growing international manufacturing business to appoint a Group Financial Controller to take responsibility for financial reporting, consolidation and control across its EMEA operations.

Reporting to the EMEA CFO, you'll work across multiple international entities and currencies, partnering closely with local Finance teams to make sure reporting is accurate, consistent and commercially useful.

It's a broad role with plenty of exposure. While there is no direct line management, you'll have significant influence across the wider Finance function and will work closely with Finance teams across the region.

The role

You'll take ownership of the EMEA month-end, consolidation and reporting process, working across multiple entities and currencies to ensure the Group has accurate and timely financial information.

A key part of the role will be understanding what's driving the numbers rather than simply reporting them. You'll need to be comfortable analysing foreign exchange movements, variances and financial performance, challenging the detail and explaining the story behind the results.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading the monthly, quarterly and annual close across the EMEA entities
  • Managing multi-currency consolidation and Group reporting
  • Reviewing financial submissions from local Finance teams and challenging where required
  • Producing management reporting and detailed variance analysis
  • Supporting the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
  • Reviewing financial performance across the individual entities
  • Overseeing cash flow and working capital reporting
  • Maintaining strong financial controls across the region
  • Supporting statutory reporting, audit, tax and compliance requirements
  • Working with local Finance teams to improve processes, controls and reporting
  • Providing financial insight and challenge to senior stakeholders
  • Supporting the development of consolidation and reporting systems
  • Getting involved in wider projects, acquisitions and process improvements as the Group continues to grow
What we’re looking for

We're looking for someone with a strong Group Financial Controller or Financial Controller background who has operated in a multi-entity, international environment.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
  • Experience consolidating multiple international entities
  • Strong knowledge of foreign exchange and variance analysis
  • A solid technical accounting and financial control background
  • Ideally, experience within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Confidence building relationships with Finance teams across different countries
  • A hands‑on approach with a genuine interest in improving processes and reporting
  • The ability to challenge the numbers and understand what is driving performance

You don't need to have managed a large team. In fact, this role is much more about your ability to influence, challenge and partner with Finance teams across the region than direct people management.

Why this role?

This is more than a reporting and consolidation role.

You’ll have genuine visibility across the EMEA business, working closely with the EMEA CFO and local Finance teams across multiple countries. The Group has ambitious growth plans, including further acquisitions, so there will be plenty of opportunity to broaden your experience and take on more responsibility.

For the right person, there’s a clear opportunity for progression as the business continues to grow.

If you’re currently a Financial Controller or Group Financial Controller and are looking for a role with greater international exposure, more influence and a clear route to progress, this is well worth a conversation.
