Overview

As an EMC Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be a vital source of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) expertise within our Submarine Support Engineering (SSE) Electrical Engineering Group. Day-to-day, you'll support the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and internal project teams across a wide range of submarine programmes, helping ensure systems meet EMC compliance standards. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge defence technology, contribute to national security, and grow your career in a highly specialised field.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the customer with EMC technical consultation and guidance.
  • Reviewing EMC test documentation and ensuring compliance across submarine projects.
  • Designing and creating representative setups for formal EMC testing.
  • Managing subcontract relationships with EMC test houses and overseeing test documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs for future reference and audit.
  • This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with regular travel to test houses on a monthly basis.
  • Awareness of EMC principles, theory, and testing requirements.
  • Experience reviewing engineering deliverables and technical documentation.
  • Proven ability to deliver outputs to cost, time, and quality standards.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and record-keeping.
