Software Project Lead - Embedded / Real-Time Systems

The Role

You’ll lead a talented Real-Time Actuation Software Group responsible for developing software used across major missile programmes. You’ll work closely with Systems, Electronics, Algorithms and Verification teams - driving quality, structure and delivery across the full lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading and developing a team of 5-10 embedded software engineers
• Owning software delivery, budgets and planning
• Ensuring process adherence for safety-critical development (DO178C or similar)
• Driving continuous improvement in tools, methods and efficiency
• Working hands‑on with requirements, design, verification and embedded C development oversight

What We’re Looking For

• Strong software leadership / project leadership experience
• Background in embedded software (C) within real‑time or safety‑critical environments
• Experience managing budgets, schedules and change
• Solid understanding of software lifecycle and configuration management
• Someone who can inspire teams, collaborate across engineering, and keep delivery on track
