Job summary

KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for battery management systems in Warwick. You will own firmware architecture and work with real-time power management for energy storage applications.

The role requires embedded C/C++, experience with BMS or energy storage, and strong real-time skills. Hybrid/onsite work pattern with competitive benefits and pension.

Qualifications

• Embedded software development in C/C++ for microcontrollers, RTOS or embedded Linux.
• Experience with battery management systems or energy storage.
• Strong real-time fundamentals and deterministic timing.
• Proficiency with CAN, Modbus, or RS485.
• IEC 61508/functional safety experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded C/C++ firmware for battery management controllers, including state estimation and thermal management.
• Evolve BMS architecture for next-gen energy storage topologies and distributed monitoring.
• Implement real-time power control logic for 50–240kW+ systems with 99%+ uptime.
• Define and debug power electronics interfaces and CAN/Modbus stacks.
• Develop test strategies and provide field support for deployed systems.
