Job summary

Jonathan Lee Group is seeking an Embedded Software / Firmware Engineer in Farnborough, Hampshire, fully onsite five days a week with flexible start and finish times. You should have strong C++ skills and experience in Rust development, with eligibility for SC and DV clearance.

The role covers the full development lifecycle, from research and prototyping to production-ready software, in a security-critical environment with cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong C++ in embedded environments.
• Knowledge of Rust or willingness to learn.
• Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers.
• Degree in engineering, maths or science.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded software using C++ (and Rust where applicable).
• Develop software for embedded platforms including embedded Linux and bare-metal MCUs.
• Assist with design, prototyping, testing and validation of new technologies.
• Collaborate with software, FPGA and hardware engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Investigate complex technical problems and propose innovative solutions.
• Contribute across the software development lifecycle from concept to product.
• Explore emerging technologies to improve performance and capabilities.
• Ensure software meets security, quality and engineering standards.
