Job summary

Allen-Vanguard is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute across the full software lifecycle for DSP-enabled RF systems. You will work on real-time embedded firmware in C/C++ for ARM and FPGA SoCs, develop DSP algorithms in C++/Python, and implement OpenCPI BSPs/workers while collaborating with systems, hardware, and RF engineers.

The role emphasizes independence with strong teamwork, Linux embedded development, and experience with SDR frameworks.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering/CS or related field.
3+ years of software development experience.
C/C++ in embedded environments or VHDL experience.
Linux/Posix in embedded environments.
RT embedded development and debugging experience.
Python/Shell scripting.
Experience with Linux/POSIX systems.
Experience with ML/AI techniques.
Experience with SDR frameworks (OpenCPI, GNURadio).

Responsibilities

Design and implement real-time embedded firmware in C/C++ on ARM MCUs and FPGA SoCs.
Develop software for DSP algorithms (C++/Python).
Create test harnesses to stimulate software modules and hardware systems.
Write and execute verification plans for software in systems.
Design, simulate and test VHDL modules.
Construct FPGA SoC designs.
Create OpenCPI BSPs for PCBs.
Create OpenCPI workers (C++/VHDL).
Collaborate with systems, hardware and RF engineers on debugging and integration.
Develop UI software for PC/mobile platforms.
Support manufacturing build, configuration and test of systems.
