Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Electronics Test Technician/Engineer based on our clients site near Ipswich. The primary responsibilities include testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic systems and equipment. The role involves corrective and preventive maintenance of electronic components, soldering tasks, and ensuring functionality and reliability of systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with design and engineering teams to uphold quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

In summary:

  • As a competent electronics test technician/engineer, qualified to HND level or beyond.
  • With good hands on practical electronics skills, including PCB soldering and wiring etc. being able to manage SMD components.
  • Have an ability to look at requirements and develop testing to prove requirement has been met or not.
  • Use equipment such as digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal analyser, spectrum analyser and more.
  • Have good general RF knowledge.
  • Have good knowledge of EMC testing and compliance work.
  • The ability to design and make test circuits and test equipment where needed.
  • Support testing team with more advanced electronics testing.
  • Take a supporting and at times guiding role in general house-keeping and H&S, CoSHH topics within the Digital Electronics Lab(s).
  • You must have a 'Safety First Attitude' towards work and be trusted to follow all company H&S.
  • Be able to follow test procedures but also be able to create/adapt them where needed.
  • Be familiar with general and more specialised Environmental Testing.
  • Have good IT skills and be able to use Excel and data logging packages.
  • There will be some requirement to work off site at various test sites from time to time.
  • Full Clean Driving licence and be comfortable to travel on occasion as .
Additionally it would be good if you :
  • Had some experience programming, such as Arduino, PIC, Atmel, Pi etc.
  • Were enthusiastically curious and be prepared to really investigate issues as required.
  • Have some analogue electronics experience.
