Job summary

A global leader in Electronics Manufacturing in Sulham is urgently recruiting an Electronics Test Engineer to repair cockpit instruments and perform fault finding on various electronic components. The ideal candidate will have strong soldering skills and experience with hand tools. This is a permanent position with working hours from 08:00 to 16:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 15:30 on Fridays.

Qualifications

  • Experience with repairing electronic components.
  • Ability to work with circuit diagrams.
  • Familiarity with hand tools for assembly and disassembly.

Job description

A global leader within Electronics Manufacturing is urgently recruiting for an Electronics Test Engineer on a permanent basis. Your main role will involve repairing various cockpit instruments such as aircraft communications, navigation, radar, radio audio units, recorders and instruments. The electronics side of the role will involve fault finding and repairing to component level, working with technologies ranging from analogue electronics to complex microprocessor electronics and RF circuits. You will be stripping down the units using hand tools such as spanners, screwdrivers, and allen keys, and working with very small parts and components that require great attention to detail.

Main Duties
  • Repair or replace damaged electronic components
  • Electronics fault finding down to component level using circuit diagrams
  • Use various test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and multimeters
  • Carry out repair work on circuit boards and replace damaged electrical components
  • Have good soldering skills for repairing damaged circuit boards
  • Dis‑assemble the units mechanically
  • Re‑assemble the units once the repair work has been completed
  • Work from work instructions

Working Hours – 08:00‑16:00 hrs Monday to Thursday and 08:00‑15:30 hrs Friday.
