Job summary

Yapton, West Sussex-based electronics manufacturer is seeking an Electronics Test Engineer to join their on-site team. The role combines development testing with formal compliance testing of motor drive systems and power electronics, supporting design engineers through prototype and product release phases.

You will design test jigs, calibrate equipment, run rigorous test protocols, and document results to CE/UL/EMC standards, working closely with power electronics, firmware and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Hands-on testing of motor drives, power electronics, AC-DC converters or similar electromechanical systems in R&D or manufacturing.
• Competence with electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, power analysers, load banks and programmable power supplies.
• Experience commissioning and calibrating test rigs, working safely with three-phase electrical power.
• Ability to write clear, logical test procedures and detailed technical reports.
• Comfortable working across electronics and firmware boundaries to diagnose hardware/software issues.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute test protocols across load conditions, speed profiles and voltage scenarios.
• Design and commission test rigs, build instrumentation and automation solutions.
• Carry out development testing on prototype boards and integrated systems with engineers.
• Perform formal compliance testing against CE, UL/CSA and EMC requirements.
• Maintain scheduling and prioritisation of test activities to support timelines.
